Homepage > Walking on Monte Lema under the moonlight
Here you can find information and answers to frequently asked questions about the current coronavirus situation in Ticino.
The lockdown-easing measures developed by the Confederation provide for a gradual reopening of activities in the region in 3 phases. Details can be found on the website of the Federal Office of Public Health.
Events, exhibitions, shows and entertainment activities will therefore be subject to postponement and cancellation.
After dinner, starting at around 21.00 the astronomical observatory will be open for a guided visit.
Depending on the number of guests, participants are divided into two groups, one visits the observatory whilst the other follows the moonlit Insubrico trail, before switching over.
The Insubrico trail is highly evocative because it offers superb views over the two lakes, Lugano and Maggiore. We’ll be guided by the Moon.
The trail does not present particular difficulties. The trip takes around 45 minutes and the trail is 1.6 km long.
In any case you are advised to bring an appropriate pair of shoes. The observatory can be reached by means of a path, just a few minutes’ walk from the restaurant, offering great views over both the north and the south sides.
