The Monte San Salvatore funicular from Lugano Paradiso takes you to the top of Switzerland’s Sugarloaf mountain offering 360° views in every direction over the local area, Lake Lugano and the Alps. From here you can walk to the quaint village of Carona where you can stop off to enjoy our traditional cuisine. Don’t miss Parco San Grato, with its panoramic “Swing the World” and playground.
The ideal program:
Morning
- Take the funicular to M. San Salvatore
- Admire 360° view from the summit
- Visit the Church
- Footpath from the summit to Ciona - Carona
Afternoon
- Lunch at Carona and visit the centre
- Visit to Parco San Grato with its different thematic path
- Dive into the pool at Carona (during summer)
Not to be missed
- Continue the excursion to Alpe Vicania – Torello and then to Morcote
- “Scuola natura, Scuola avventura”, a special Educational Program by Funcicolare Monte San Salvatore
