Miglieglia

The conquest of Monte Lema on the way of alpine pastures

Miglieglia – Monte Lema – Alpe Cima Pianca

Start the day with the ascent by cable car that leads from Miglieglia to the summit of Monte Lema. A natural oasis from which you can admire Lake Lugano, and Lake Maggiore, as well as offering numerous walks through pastures, beech forests, chestnut woods and Scottish cow herds. Do not miss a stop at the Restaurant-Hostel Vetta, the descent through the thematic path “Tra Cielo e Terra”. It is possible to visit the “Museo del Boscaiolo” and the “turbín” – outdoor refridgeration constructions for milk and its derivatives dating back to the 1800s. It is also possible to enjoy local products at the Alpe di Cima Pianca (for a min. of 10 people).

 

The ideal program:

Morning

  • Departure from Miglieglia by cable car
  • Breakfast at the summit
  • Beginning of the thematic footpath
  • Picnic at Alpe di Cima Pianca or lunch in the mountain pasture (upon request)

Afternoon

  • Admire the fauna and flora
  • Visit to the Museo del Boscaiolo (upon request)
  • Return along the footpath towards Miglieglia

Not to missed

  • Cows along the way
  • Local fauna and flora
  • Astronomical Observatory (upon request)
  • Aeromodelling
