After the success of the first concerts, the appointments with ancient music in Capriasca return together with the vibrant colors of spring.

The concerts of our nascent association bring the magic of baroque music to both experts and new enthusiasts in the splendid setting of the Convent of Santa Maria dei Frati Cappuccini del Bigorio.

The Concerto with Harpsichord and Baroque Flute takes us on a journey through the music of Lucca between the 17th and 18th centuries, highlighting the names of those musicians from Lucca who, in their time, were famous in Italy and abroad, but today they do not receive due attention.

The organist and singer Gioseffo Guami (1540 – 1612) who left Lucca came to hold the prestigious position of organist in the Basilica of San Marco in Venice.

The violinist Francesco Xaverio Geminiani (1687 – 1762), known not only for his compositions but also for his musical treatises.

Finally, Francesco Barsanti (1690 – 1770), who with a musical path similar to Geminiani arrived in London in 1714 and was one of the few Italian composers in the Baroque to compose sonatas for transverse flute and continuous bass.
