Karole P. B. Vail, Director of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Carmen Giménez, curator of the exhibition "Calder. Sculpting Time," and Tobia Bezzola, Director of the Museo d'Arte della Svizzera Italiana MASI Lugano.

The talk "Peggy Guggenheim and Alexander Calder" is dedicated to the deep artistic and personal ties between two extraordinary figures of the 20th century. On this occasion, Karole P. B. Vail, Director of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, will engage in conversation with Carmen Giménez, curator of the exhibition "Calder. Sculpting Time."

Art historian and granddauther of Peggy Guggenheim, Karole P. B. Vail is a leading expert on the renowned collector and patron of the arts who played a leading role in the history of Modern art, supporting numerous artists, including Alexander Calder. Peggy Guggenheim played a key role in bringing Calder's work to Italy, and the artist created extraordinary works for her, such as the famous mobiles Arc of Petals (1941), currently at the MASI exhibition, and the silver headboard for her bed (1946), kept at Palazzo Venier dei Leoni in Venice.
