Buchmann Gallery presents international contemporary art devoting mainly to sculpture. It follow since many years the Estate of the Swiss artist Martin Disler.
The Buchmann Gallery was founded in St. Gallen in 1975 and moved to Basel in 1983. Since 1998 the gallery is in Agra (Golden Hill) and in 2013 the city space of Lugano opens in Via Della Posta 2.
The bright spaces in Agra created specifically to mainly present sculptures, host exhibitions dedicated to contemporary international artists. For example Daniel Buren, Lawrence Carroll, Martin Disler, Tony Cragg, Wolfgang Laib, Mario Merz, Tatsuo Miyajima, Wilhelm Mundt, Bettina Pousttchi, Gerda Steiner and Jörg Lenzlinger, Felice Varini, William Tucker, Alberto Garutti. In the recent years the artists Marco D’Anna, Véronique Arnold and Alex Dorici have joined the gallery.
