LAC en plein air

12 July - 10 August 2019
LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, Piazza, Lugano
Piazza Bernardino Luini 6

Timetable

21:00

The second edition of LAC en plein air features five double musical events, free to the public, that combine jazz with world music.

Where is jazz heading? And what will be the new sources of inspiration that will help it grow and keep its vital juices flowing? Where will we be going ourselves to find new sounds that can make us jump up on ours seats, and rediscover something we once tasted on an exotic trip or make us want to board a plane and travel to a distant land? LAC en plein air will be that magic place, a place of discovery where the familiar blends with the unknown, where ancient harmonies combine with contemporary sounds, where jazz encounters world music.

Concerts will be performed on Piazza Luini every Friday and Saturday evening from July 12 to August 10: from leading theatres and international festivals, young talented artists and exclusive ensembles of different origins and cultures will be bringing to Lugano the sounds of their homelands together with innovative jazz. Touring around the globe in only ten evenings , LAC en plein air pays homage to this musical genre in all its many varieties.
