To the south it looks towards the city of Lugano and its lake, while to the north is the imposing Monte Bar. To the west, the region extends as far as the Vedeggio river plain and to the east it borders Val Colla. A region whose territory is characterised by landscapes of rare beauty, tranquillity, natural features, such as the birch, beech and chestnut woods that almost entirely cover the hillsides, but also by the signs of human activity over the centuries.
The Capriasca Culture, Events, Sport and Tourism Department, with the support of the Lugano Tourist Board, has developed hiking routes to enhance and network the various mountain pastures and huts in the region. "La via dei sapori" is a journey to discover the naturalistic treasure and flavours of the Capriasca area. Various routes lead to alpine pastures and huts, where you can taste cheese, salami and other local produce, but also discover all the secrets of their production and the animals that contribute to it. For those who wish to stay among these heights, there are also numerous establishments in the area offering accommodation.
