Enchanting path surrounded by nature with extraordinary panorama!

This trekking stretches over a three day period to give you the time necessary to really take advantage of the extraordinary view, the beauty and the peace and quiet offered by the lush natural surroundings! The proposal is especially attractive from the naturalistic point of view (geology, flora, fauna). Half way of every leg, you'll be able to get a bite to eat and at the end of the day you'll be able to rest comfortably, spending the night in a mountain hut. This arrangement is having a remarkable success!

It represents an exciting experience that allows you to hike following a fascinating itinerary that begins at Brè, a town on a hill overlooking Lugano and ends at Tesserete.

Stage 1: Brè – Monte Boglia – Alpe Bolla – Capanna Pairolo

The characteristic village of Brè, whose mount dominates Lugano, is the starting point of this excursion and its spectacular view is the first of many that we'll be encountering.

Stage 2: Capanna Pairolo – Cima di Fojorina – San Lucio – Gazzirola – Capanna Bar

The first part of the excursion leads you to Cima di Fojorina, passing through fascinating limestone landscapes, with a vegetation that is so particular that it is well worth seeing it for yourself.

Stage 3: Capanna Bar – Monte Bar – Gola di Lago – Monte Bigorio – Tesserete

Along this trail you climb up to the top of Mount Bar to then continue towards the Motto di Croce, two amongst the most appreciated panoramic points of our region. After going through Gola di Lago, with its nationally important peat-bogs, you then proceed to Mount Bigorio, a highly diversified region, which offers a further panoramic point during our excursion.

Situated at 1129 m. in altitude, at the foot of Mount Boglia, it is in a sunny and a slightly ventilated position in Summer. Since 2002, it has been managed, by a patrician family from Cadro, in a cordial and friendly way.

Rifugio San Lucio

The hut used to be the barracks of the Customs Service. After radical refurbishment, since the summer of 2000, it has been organized to give hospitality to hikers.

The mountain hut is located on the slopes of the Gazzirola, on the San Lucio Pass, where you get a magnificent view beyond the horizon of the Val Colla and on the Val Cavargna, which is close to Italy.
