Running

Run to the sun

With more than 900 kilometres of signposted trails, the Lugano region offers a wealth of possibilities for running in the heart of nature: choose from a variety of routes ranging from lakes to hills, peaks and characteristic villages, offering unique scenery.

Not all paths are suitable for running, so here we suggest 17 of the best routes in our region, developed to allow you to do your favourite activity in beautiful landscape and appreciating the area you are passing through. Places of interest or related activities are suggested whenever possible. Some of the itineraries can be combined.

The routes have been drawn up based on a speed of 10 km/h, alternating asphalt and dirt road surfaces and as far as possible away from traffic, on wide roads or paths where it’s possible to runfely. A navigator is indispensable.
