Immersed in a natural amphiteatre surrounded by the Gradiccioli Peaks, the view towards the south is a typical panorama of the Alto Malcantone characterized by a mosaic of villages, such as Mugena, Vezio and Fescoggia, that are harmoniously integrated between woods and open fields.
For educational purposes, between Mugena and Vezio there is an edifice called a "metato", which is otherwise known as a "grà".
This stone-built building is where the chestnuts are dried by exposing them on grates to moderate heat and smoke. By drying the chestnuts, the fruit can be conserved for several months.
