The 2003 Cross-Country World Championship circuit is a thrilling experience. As the trail has been technically adapted, it is suitable not only for experts, but also for intermediate level bikers. The approximately 6 km route with a height difference of 164 m is mostly along woodland trails and on a dirt road (with a 2.4 km single trail) and is ideal for riding several times.
This circular itinerary is fantastic: the climb up from Alpe Foppa to the Tamaro mountain hut is exhausting but rewarded by stunning vistas over the valley bottom, Lake Lugano and Lake Maggiore. Technically, the descent is challenging. Passing through forests and alpine pastures, you descend down to the valley where the Vedeggio river flows.
