Spectacular and panoramic route (race) along the crests of the Lugano region, featuring breathtaking landscapes and unique views!
Original route: 54 km and 3,900 m of elevation gain.
It starts in Tesserete, a picturesque village near Lugano. It follows ancient trails that lead to alpine pastures where people lived by shepherding, raising cows and goats. A Capuchin monastery from 1535, farms, huts, mountain villages complete this idyllic scene. The peculiarity of this panoramic route is that it mainly follows the grassy crests of the natural amphitheater surrounding the region. During the race, you can always see the part already run and the part still to be covered. The contrast is spectacular when looking north towards Locarno and Bellinzona, dominated by tall, pointed mountain profiles, and then turning the gaze south, characterized by the lakes Ceresio and Lario as well as gentle wooded hills. The Scenic Trail has been awarded by many expert runners as the most beautiful race of the circuit, precisely for its breathtaking panoramas.
The official race takes place once a year. Alternative Scenic Trail routes during the official race: www.scenictrail.ch
