Hike from Monte San Salvatore to Morcote

The experience starts on the funicular which is unique for its technical functioning and has been taking people up since the end of the eighteen hundred. From the summit, after admiring the amazing view on lake Lugano and surroundings we descend the panoramic footpath that leads to Ciona, admiring the local flora along the way on this stretch of path, which is particularly rocky over the initial section.The route proceeds across level terrain, through the cool shade of the woods, then follows a brief stretch of asphalt road leading to Carona, well known for its San Grato botanical gardens, just a few minutes
from the centre of town.
The trail carries on to Alpe Vicania along a wide, flat, shaded path which crosses Mount Arbòstora before reaching Alpe Vicania.
Once arrived here you can have the possibility to have a snack and restore.
From Alpe Vicania, we descend the steps to the traditional lakeside village of Morcote.
