Turista dietro casa

Lugano

A tour for every taste!

From art to history, from tradition to nature: each tour is an exciting journey that meets different interests, to discover a distinctive feature of the territory. Choose the one that's right for you.

Do we really know the city of Lugano and its surroundings and their beauties? Coming there every day for work or study allows us to appreciate them or, on the contrary, does not leave much room for discovering its attractions?

These are the questions from which the "Turista dietro casa" project was born: the Ferrovie Luganesi (FLP) and the Trasporti Pubblici Luganesi (TPL), in collaboration with the Ente Turistico del Luganese (Lugano Tourist Board) (LuganoRegion), have joined together in this ambitious project by designing real tourist tours on their own lines to lead to the discovery of the territory for those who are perhaps already a user of public transport, but also those who are not yet.

The principle is the same as the well-known “Hop-on Hop-off” tours, with the only differences being that you get on and off one of the many public transports of the Ferrovie Luganesi (FLP) and Trasporti Pubblici Luganesi (TPL) that we see in circulation every day and that, to go on one of the tours, you only need to have a regular Arcobaleno ticket.

A journey for everyone, in which the user decides what to see, with the possibility of getting off at any stop to discover an attraction more closely, and then hopping on again and continuing the tour to another stop with other points of interest.

The project and the proposed tours concern the trains of the Lugano-Ponte Tresa line of the Ferrovie Luganesi (FLP) and the buses and the funicular of the Trasporti Pubblici Luganesi (TPL).

How it works

Choose the tour that suits you best

The tours described on this site are within everyone's reach, suitable for both adults and children.

You decide what to see

Once you have selected the tour, identify the points of interest that most appeal to you and the stops at which to get off to visit them. For each itinerary you will find an interactive map that will help you plan your tour.

Set the length of the trip

Half day? A whole day? The choice is yours based on how many points of interest you want to see and how long you want to stop at each one (on the site, each point of interest is described to give an idea of what it offers) and remembering that at stops, on public holidays and on Sundays, a bus passes every 15 minutes and a train every 30 minutes (timetables change compared to weekdays).
