The second exhibition, part of the annual series organised by the Associazione Amici dell’Atelier Calcografico (AAAC) in the Portico of the Salita dei Frati Library, is dedicated to the engravings of Lugano painter Adriano Pitschen. A carefully curated selection of prints testifies to the evolution of Pitschen’s creative expression over time, moving towards the clarity evoked by the exhibition’s title – “Nitori”.

The exhibition is intended as a space for interaction on multiple levels – between artist and audience, observer and artwork, painting and engraving, content and form. Conceived in collaboration with the artist, it offers visitors the opportunity to discover the developments that have shaped his long and multifaceted artistic oeuvre.

On display are works created using traditional relief and intaglio printing techniques – in particular aquatint, linocut and woodcut, as well as perforated plates. The compositions, consisting of pure, clear, circular forms characterised by ever-changing, dynamic and expressive interactions, reveal a constant dialogue with Pitschen’s painted works.
