The AME (Australian Mandolin Ensemble) is a large mandolin orchestra made up of about forty musicians selected from numerous Australian ensembles – the very best of Australian mandolin.
In May they will tour Europe, with a stop in Lugano. After connecting through our channels, they were eager to present a concert together with the OML. The tour will then continue in Germany: from May 14 to 17 the Eurofestival of Mandolin Orchestras will take place, a major event held every four years, showcasing the world’s finest mandolin players.
The concert: one part by the OML, one by the AME, and two pieces performed together, forming an orchestra of nearly 60 musicians. We are excited by the uniqueness of this collaboration and deeply honored that an ensemble from so far away chose to share a concert with us.
