Cademangia – a community walk between Cademario and Arosio – is a hiking and culinary event dedicated to discovering the Malcantone region, its natural beauty, and its local specialties.
The event will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, featuring a route of approximately 9 km from Cademario to Arosio that winds through the region’s characteristic trails, forests, and rural landscapes.
The day aims to offer participants an experience that combines outdoor activity, exploration of the area, and the promotion of local products. The walk includes several social highlights: breakfast is provided at the start, and along the route, participants can stop at the Poma Farm (Azienda Agricola Poma) for an aperitif featuring local specialties.
Upon arrival in Arosio, a communal lunch featuring polenta and stew will be organized, serving as the day's grand finale and an opportunity for participants, residents, and local businesses to connect.
The initiative was created to promote slow, sustainable tourism, encouraging the discovery of lesser-known trails and landscapes while forging a link between the Lugano area and Upper Malcantone. Furthermore, the event seeks to support and showcase local farms, producers, and businesses, fostering a collaboration that blends sport, nature, gastronomy, and community.
Open to families, adults, and young people alike, the walk aims to become an annual tradition dedicated to exploring the region through an experience that is simple, accessible, and authentically rooted in the local area.
