CamminarTe: In the footsteps of Ernesto Quadri

Tesserete

Timetable

Saturday: 09:30 - 11:30

Free entry

CamminarTe is back in Capriasca: this series of cultural walks invites visitors to discover the places, history and traditions of Capriasca, in collaboration with the Capriasca and Val Colla Audiovisual Archive.

Guiding the public will be Sara Capra, an art historian, who will lead a tour of several buildings designed by the Capriasca-born architect Ernesto Quadri (1868–1922), to whom she dedicated her master’s thesis at the University of Lausanne.

This walking tour will offer the chance to (re)discover the works and style of one of the region’s most significant architects, who left tangible and important traces of his art across the area.

Programme

09:30 am: meet in front of the Tesserete cemetery.

The walk will begin at Ernesto Quadri’s grave, located in the Tesserete cemetery. From there, we will proceed to the cemetery chapel designed by the architect and continue on to Campestro, where Villa Mari and Villa Carmen are situated, before returning to the Hotel Tesserete as the final stop.

11:30 am: end of the walk.

Participation is free and no registration is required. The route is short and, as it is a gentle walk, the physical effort required is minimal.
