CORRENTE – Ethics and Aesthetics in the Digital Art

Lugano

Free entry

Visarte Ticino’s program of activities also includes Corrente, a flexible format of exhibitions and public dialogues that brings together, on a case-by-case basis, two artists active in Ticino who are selected based on specific themes. The events take place in new independent spaces.

The first event is dedicated to the relationship between art and digital technology, exploring its aesthetic, ethical, and cultural aspects through a dialogue between two artists specializing in this field: Jaromil (Denis Roio) and Stefano “Dodo” Molo. Both are based in the Lugano area, though they belong to different generations and develop deeply personal artistic practices.

The event also inaugurates the public activities of Generative Center, co-directed by Felix Bachmann and Kevin Merz, a new space focused on technological research and the use of artificial intelligence in the generation of images and videos for cinema.

The space is located on the third floor of the building at Via Besso 42A, already known for Jazz in Bess, various art studios, and Cerchio 91, a cultural and social organization active in the same building.
