The 46th edition of Estival Jazz, an event that has been bringing high-quality concerts to Lugano since the 1970s. Conceived by Jacky Marti and Andreas Wyden, Estival Jazz has hosted internationally renowned musicians from the very beginning, becoming a traditional highlight for the people of Lugano, the Ticino region, and visitors from around the world.

Alongside Estival, the 16th edition of the Lugano LongLake Festival (July 9–26, 2026) kicks off—one of Switzerland’s most important urban open-air festivals, featuring hundreds of events, including concerts, performances, talks, street artists, family-friendly activities, and much more.

Hamilton de Holanda Trio
An innovative group in the realm of Brazilian instrumental music, led by the award-winning mandolinist Hamilton de Holanda. It blends the traditions of choro with modern jazz to create a sophisticated, contemporary sound. The trio (featuring Salomão Soares and Thiago Rabello) has garnered significant international acclaim, including a Latin Grammy Award.

Orchestra della Svizzera italiana (OSI)
Founded in 1935, it is now a leading European orchestra based at the LAC in Lugano. It presents various concert seasons and collaborates with world-renowned artists such as Martha Argerich, Charles Dutoit, and Sol Gabetta, performing in Switzerland and abroad.

Amaro Freitas
One of the most promising Brazilian pianists in contemporary jazz. His style blends jazz with traditional Brazilian rhythms. Following the success of “Sankofa,” his album “Y’Y” explores sounds inspired by the Amazon, offering an innovative and “decolonized” vision of jazz.
