Museo Hermann Hesse Montagnola
Free entry
In 1929, Hermann Hesse published his book “A Library of World Literature”, in which he offered concrete suggestions for building a personal library.
Nearly one hundred years later, the literary landscape has changed significantly; it has become more global and considerably more diverse.
Which works should today be added to a canon in Hesse’s sense? On April 23, the poet and philosopher Stella N’Djoku, together with her guests Gaia Giuliani, Anastassia Smyslova and Gáspár Habony from TASIS (The American School in Switzerland), will take the audience on a journey through time and space and present books that are essential to them.
In this way, Hesse’s library is symbolically expanded – with titles that reflect the transformations of our present.
In English, with the possibility of questions from the audience in Italian. Free admission.
