Penthesilea by Hans-Peter Profunser at the Giudici Gipsoteca in Lugano

Lugano

Free entry

The Giudici Gipsoteca is hosting Penthesilea, a sculpture by Hans-Peter Profunser, until December 2026.

The presence of this work is linked to the exhibition “Man and Environment – The Destroyer”, held at the Monument of Saint John the Baptist in Gnosca and promoted by the School of Sculpture in Peccia.

This project creates a dialogue between two places united by their focus on sculpture, materiality and contemporary artistic research. On one side is the exhibition in Gnosca, which reflects on the relationship between humanity and the environment through the work of thirteen artists; on the other is the Gipsoteca, which welcomes Penthesilea as a testimony to this artistic journey and as an opportunity for visitors to explore its themes in greater depth.

The sculpture can be visited during the Gipsoteca’s opening hours (Wednesday to Friday, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm) and during events organized by the Foundation.

If you have not yet visited the Gipsoteca, this is one more reason to do so. We look forward to welcoming you.
