The traditional rowing regatta on May 1st, reserved for young beginners (up to the U17 category), has been renewed this year and moved to the waters in front of the city park of Villa Heleneum, near Lugano-Castagnola, from where it will be possible to watch to the regatta which will take place according to the "match race" formula.
About a hundred young athletes are expected from all over the Canton of Ticino, but also from neighboring Italy, who will compete on "double scull" boats (2x): an exciting sprint in "one-on-one" duels, over a distance of 500 m , which will allow the public to enjoy the spectacle of rowing in the beautiful setting offered by Lake Ceresio.
The regatta will take place on 1 May 2026, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, and will be commented live by a speaker and will be enlivened by music, in a festive and dynamic parterre for this spring sporting event.
