Woody Guthrie was the pioneer of American folk and protest song. The spiritual father of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, and of every singer-songwriter who tried to change the world with an acoustic guitar and harmonica.

Woody's legacy was also passed down to his son Arlo with his legendary Alice's Restaurant. Now it's Sarah Lee Guthrie's turn, Arlo's daughter and Woody's granddaughter. Her destiny was sealed: the first time she stepped on stage was at Carnegie Hall, and she was not yet fourteen, duetting with her father Arlo on Pete Seeger's famous "Sailin' Down My Golden River" before a sold-out, ecstatic audience.

Sarah Lee Guthrie carries on her family's message with a gentle urgency in her performances, guided by her pure, clear spirit and voice. In 2009, she released “Go Waggaloo”, a family album of original songs (some with Woody's lyrics), which won numerous awards and took Sarah on The Guthrie Family Rides Again tour, surrounded by generations of family and friends. Sarah grew up in the Berkshires, Massachusetts, but recently moved to Austin, Texas, the city of singer-songwriters constantly moving between roots and innovation.

On Monday, April 27, Sarah Lee Guthrie will be at Hollywood Live Music in Lugano accompanied by pianist and accordionist Radoslav Lorkovic, an extraordinary musician and collaborator with Odetta, Pete Seeger, Jimmy LaFave, Jackson Browne, and Richard Shindell. Sarah and Rado often play together at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival held in July in Oklahoma, and for the first time, they are now touring together to surprise and enchant every audience and to continue spreading Woody Guthrie's message ‘’This land is your land’’!

The concert on the 27th at Hollywood Live Music in Lugano will begin at 9:00 PM.
