Just ahead of the tenth anniversary of the artist's passing (1928-2017) — currently regarded as the most internationally renowned Ticilese sculptor in the world — this exhibition represents the third major posthumous retrospective dedicated to him. Conceived as a true statement of esteem and affection by the Municipality of Bioggio, “Sottopelle” is meant to be a delicate cameo set upon a monumental body of work.

Through a selection of around forty works including paintings, graphics, and sculptures, the exhibition aims to focus attention on the intimate and profound aspects of Arnoldi's work that might initially escape the viewer. From his early paintings influenced by the master artists of Lugano, to his famous sculptures inspired by pre-Columbian civilizations and his most iconic themes (horses, bulls, warriors, myths), the exhibition reveals the expressive, dramatic, and emotional imprint of an absolute master.
