Alpe Foppa – Alpe di Neggia

Panoramic hike, which takes you from Alpe Foppa to Alpe di Neggia, offering you two variations along the path, both surrounded by the nature.

You can either walk all the way up to the top of Monte Tamaro or choose the lower path to shorten the route by 20 min. In both cases, the view over the area of Locarno is spectacular. Alpe Foppa is not only the point where funny activities and culture come together, but also the point where this and many other excursions depart from. Follow the path to Monte Tamaro (1,962 m a.s.l), where you get a unique 360°- view on the Alps and the most important lakes of the Canton Ticino (Ceresio e Maggiore). From the summit of Monte Tamaro, descend the path along the crest of the mountain in the direction of Alpe di Neggia (1,394 m a.s.l).

The construction work of the new Monte Tamaro cable car is proceeding, and the reopening is planned for summer 2025.
