One step at a time towards the summit of Monte Tamaro and unique panoramas in Ticino.
Starting from Alpe Foppa, proceed along a dirt road to Capanna Tamaro, a well-deserved first break. Afterwards, follow a panoramic path "stolen" from the mountain up to the foot of the summit. From there, climb along the ridge to reach and earn the Monte Tamaro summit at 1,962 m a.s.l. after about 1 hour and 40 minutes of total walking. Once at the top, the WOW effect is guaranteed: a 360° panoramic viewpoint over lakes, valleys, cities, and mountains of the canton. The view extends from the Po Valley to the 4,000 m peaks of the Swiss Alps, with clearly recognizable peaks like Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn. A must for hikers! The descent is done along the same route taken previously but with a new panoramic perspective oriented towards Bellinzona and valleys. For those who do not want to descend via the same route, we recommend the Monte Tamaro Circuit.
