This pre-Alpine crossing is one of the most renowned and beautiful routes of the Swiss pre-Alps, located on the border between Switzerland and Italy.
The Tamaro – Lema in recent years has earned a top spot among the most beautiful and renowned crossings of the Swiss pre-Alps. The route takes place almost entirely along the ridge, and being developed on the border between Switzerland and Italy, it offers a bird's-eye view of the Insubric area, including Lombardy, Piedmont, Ticino, and Valais. The elevation gain is moderate, except for the first part leading to the summit of Monte Tamaro. Both Monte Tamaro, rich in attractions, and Monte Lema are accessible by cable car from late March to early November.
