Lugano Bike No. 66 – Stage 4 – Miglieglia – Ponte Tresa

Discovering the lower part of Malcantone. On M. Faeta and down towards Astano on a dirt road immersed in the forest. Picturesque village and its namesake small lake deserve a stop. Up to P. Cremenaga, road sections alternate in a varied landscape. P. Tresa is reached alongside the Tresa river.

You ride in the lower Malcantone, a foothill and mountainous strip, with dense forest area, historic villages, testimonies linked to past activities, and monuments of historical and artistic interest. From Miglieglia, via a dirt road in the forest, you reach the Monte Faeta pass, the picturesque Astano, and its namesake small lake. You continue towards the village of Sessa and Ponte Cremenaga, on the border with Italy, from where you return towards Ponte Tresa along the Tresa river.
