The circular Alpe Duragno Walk, the longest of the three, offers you a panoramic and constantly suggestive view.
The first part of this walk goes along a relatively flat path that runs alongside the mountain and offers a scenic view over Lugano and its lake. Once reached Alpe Duragno you find yourself immersed in a wonderful alpine environment surrounded by grazing cows and goats. Here you can discover how nature meets local agriculture. The route then climbs the upper part of the Duragno Valley to the Capanna Tamaro, an ideal place to stop for a break, where the view widens out towards Sopraceneri. The descent to Alpe Foppa is along an easy gravel road.
The construction work of the new Monte Tamaro cable car is proceeding, and the reopening is planned for summer 2025.
