From July 18 to 31, the Ticino Musica Festival celebrates its 30th edition in grand style, with more than 80 events including opera performances, symphonic concerts, recitals, chamber music, and much more. Audiences are invited to let themselves be guided by music on this summer journey through the most beautiful locations in Ticino and its surroundings.

“La Bohème” by Giacomo Puccini, presented by the International Opera Studio “Silvio Varviso,” will be staged in Lugano, Locarno, Bellinzona, Sorengo, Novaggio, and Magliaso, while the Ticino Musica Festival Orchestra, conducted by Lü Jia and featuring composer-in-residence Dieter Ammann, will perform two symphonic concerts with renowned soloists in Lugano at the LAC Teatro Hall (July 23) and the Palazzo dei Congressi (July 30).

At the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, more than 200 young musicians will attend the Academy’s Masterclasses with leading teachers from the international music scene. These classes will be open to the public during the openclass sessions, through the purchase of a listener pass or by becoming members of the Ticino Musica Circle of Friends. The Academy teachers and its participants will also perform in numerous concerts.

At the heart of Ticino Musica’s mission is the promotion of the most promising young musicians. The Festival hosts three ensembles in residence – Moser Quartet, Pucela Brass Ensemble, and Quartetto Kontakt – as well as winners of major international competitions.
