On Sunday, August 23, 2026 (from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.), the pedestrian lakeside walkway from Paradiso to Lugano will host "La Splendida," the largest lakeside market event in Switzerland and Europe.

This free, spectacular open-air event has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors over the past two years, thanks to its myriad musical, sports, circus, and fashion attractions, as well as numerous street food stalls for every taste and, most importantly, the huge artisan market stretching over 1.5 km along the charming lakeside path. 2026's artists include: Marco Zappa, Guggen Luganiga, Seven Seas, Alex Merigo, Lorix Spray Art, DJ Laura Penello, Guggen Stracaganass, Giorgio Gisas, DJ Magix, Alessandro Martin, Duo Camai, Grey... And that's not all: a large area dedicated to fitness and wellness has been set up, allowing visitors to try and learn about various disciplines, from Pilates to judo, yoga, spinning, introductory meditation, nutrition, and urban challenges. There's also an area for chess lovers, with tournaments and events featuring international masters. In the late afternoon and evening, there will be lakeside fashion shows featuring local and international artists, as well as race car simulator challenges featuring international drivers. For the little ones, there will also be areas set up in the gardens with a host of attractions. Not to be missed.
