Excessive trade in endangered animal and plant species can threaten their survival. The exhibition vividly illustrates how the international CITES agreement on species protection works, what is permitted and what is not, and the role customs authorities play in combating the illegal trade in protected species.

For the exhibition, the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office FSVO has opened the doors to its confiscated items room: confiscated goods, exotic items, and valuable holiday souvenirs are now on display for the public in a giant display case at the Swiss Customs Museum.

Young and adult visitors alike can look forward to an exciting mix of curious objects and interactive stations that inform, raise awareness, and encourage reflection.
