Vincenzo Campanile – L'orologio – Il ritmo del colore

Lugano

Free entry

Painting exhibition dedicated to the Lugano-based painter Vincenzo Campanile, 1931-2022. Presented by Paolo Campanile (the artist's nephew).

Thirty works, mostly dating from the 1970s, will be on display. The aim is to introduce the public to the artist's two "souls": the probably more well-known, ironic, satirical one, expressed through cartoons and caricatures from both regional and international news (his delightful hand-painted aprons are famous). The other, lesser-known, more intimate and profound, one, expressed through watercolor, ink, and mixed media, with works that explored the human figure, ranging from a sort of twentieth-century primitivism to an almost informal abstract lyricism. During the evening, our sommelier Oriana, from L'Enoteca del Convento, will offer a wine tasting.
