Final concert musical residency 2023

The musical residencies are a project of the Events and Congress Division designed to support musical creation in Italian-speaking Switzerland. The winners of the competition are offered five days of rehearsals with technical assistance, as well as production and logistical support for the preparation of a tour and a moment of cultural mediation.

The first musical residency, scheduled from 26 to 30 November, was awarded to Tatum Rush, musician, artist and producer with Italian-Swiss and American roots. Tatum Rush is the stage front for Giordano Rush, a visionary artist and producer with a very personal musical and aesthetic imprint. Born in San Diego, California, but raised in Switzerland in a melting pot of Italian, French and American culture, he holds a degree in performance art and now lives and works between Lugano, Geneva and Milan, devoting himself to writing and producing songs, video art and opera figurations. Her music is a daring mix of contemporary pop with R&B and disco chic influences and she is an exponent of a new music scene in Italy characterised by the combination of sophisticated references and pop language, alongside artists such as Popa. He has published several works in English and Italian, with collaborations with emerging and established artists. He has participated in major music festivals and recently released the album 'Villa Tatum'. His latest EP, 'Bougainvillea', reflects his collaboration with Brazilian pianist Jorjão Barreto.

For the residency at Foce, Tatum will be performing with an instrumental and electronic line-up. On the occasion of the release of his new record project and the subsequent tour in Italy and Switzerland, the artist will benefit from the residency for the preparation of his tour. The residency ends on Thursday 30 November with a concert at Studio Foce open to all and with free admission.
