Luca Marignoni is the protagonist of a new project promoted by the Kromya Art Gallery.
After the solo exhibition "Lo stesso cielo, ogni notte" (The same sky, every night), which took place in Verona in 2023, and the participation in Arte Fiera Bologna with a monographic stand, the gallery presents the artist's first Swiss solo exhibition entitled "Il cielo mira" (The sky is looking) from 12 March to 29 April 2024 at its headquarters in Lugano.
The exhibition will be curated by Luca Massimo Barbero and will open on Tuesday 12 March at 6.30 pm accompanied by a presentation of the catalogue. Both the artist and the curator will be attending.
The exhibition reveals a career marked by a selection of around twenty sculptural works: wood, plasterboard and aluminium are the material vehicle for realising Luca Marignoni's artistic vision. Created between 2016 and 2024, the works also include several unpublished pieces made especially for the exhibition in Lugano.
Defined by Luca Massimo Barbero as the "poetics of the border", Luca Marignoni's research has an approach in which meditation and contemplation play a central role. The artist reflects on what is the horizon between the visible and the invisible to imagine an "other" place where the mind can freely unfold without knowing barriers, not even those of matter itself. A process that reveals itself through a meticulous sculptural work of subtraction, bringing to life forms that neither recall a specific name nor suggest a single object.
