The Canterini di Lugano, the city's historic choir, offer an evening of listening to songs from their repertoire.
The choir was founded in 1932 to coincide with the Harvest Festival. In 1939, it participated in the first performance of "Sacra Terra del Ticino" at the national exhibition in Zurich.
As representative of the City of Lugano, the choir performs not only in Ticino but also in Switzerland and abroad.
Thanks to the precious women's costumes that recall those of the Luganese bourgeoisie festivities at the end of the 19th century, the choir participates in events linked to Swiss traditions: the next big event will be the Federal Costume Festival in Zurich (Eidgenössische Trachtenfest) from 28 to 30 June 2024!
Let us preserve our traditions through song and costumes!
