This short route allows you to appreciate the beauty of the characteristic villages of Gandria and Brè, enjoy the unmissable view of the Gulf of Lugano and the surrounding mountains, and relax while walking through a pleasant wooded area.
The route starts at the 276 m altitude of the Gandria pier to reach the summit of Monte Brè, located at 915 m: a 639 m elevation gain that clearly conveys the physical effort required for the hike. Gandria, a magnificent fishing village bordering Lake Lugano, is an excellent starting point considering its beauty. A beauty that you absolutely must discover by dedicating part of your time to visiting the village.
After leaving Gandria, you immediately embark on a pleasant walk along the path that winds through the forest until you reach the village of Brè, where, a suggestion not only for art lovers, you have the possibility to explore the village center by following the artistic furnishings route. From the village, Monte Brè can be reached in just under half an hour of further effort, rewarded however by a fabulous panorama of Lugano and its surroundings.
