More southern variant to descend to the plain.
The first section, between Alpe Foppa and Alpe Duragno, follows a relatively flat path that skirts the mountain and offers a stunning view of Lugano and its lake. It then continues along a steeper section to Faedone. From here, a path constantly immersed in the beech forest leads to Nanazzo, then skirts the Val Zarigo up to the picturesque hamlet of Soresina and finally reaches Rivera along a stretch of dirt road. This route rewards the effort made with contact with nature and the tranquility it offers. It is a little-known route and consequently also little used by tourists. You mainly encounter locals.
