Educational trail on the flora and fauna of Monte Caslano. Along the route, you can stop to admire the view of the Gulf of Caslano and Agno, the strait of Lavena Ponte Tresa, and the Italian territory.
The educational trail of Monte Caslano allows you to experience firsthand, in a small space, a natural landscape worthy of particular interest and strict protection because it gathers, in a small yet attractive area, mainly geological and botanical elements that together form a valuable synthesis of the natural landscape of the entire region. Regarding geology, the mountain includes a series ranging from the very ancient rocks of the so-called Insubric crystalline basement, through Carboniferous deposits and Permian volcanics, to Triassic dolomites and Quaternary moraines: a classic sequence for the region, orderly visible here in a short walk. Regarding botany, the mountain hosts about 600 species of vascular plants besides 150 species of mosses and liverworts. The marked educational trail equipped with 15 explanatory panels allows you to comfortably explore this park.
